Trade Guaranty + Surety Ltd was founded by solicitor Tony Thomas in 2008. After a career in bonds and commercial law, Tony could see the opportunity in providing bonds to smaller contractors that were retaining exposures in the local market. Tony wanted to create a company that provided quality bonds, re-insured by a rated insurer, for a better level of security for clients. Next to join the business was construction expert Bernard Fenton, followed by finance director Gareth Clague. The three Trade Guaranty + Surety directors offer a balanced structure of expertise.

Tony says the bond business suits his mindset and he started the business to provide bonds up to $500,000. Tony enjoys working with smaller contractors to provide an alternative to banks with often restricting demands.
